A Solar Sales Representative is responsible for selling solar energy products and services to residential and commercial customers. This involves generating leads, building relationships with potential clients, and educating them on the benefits of solar energy. The Solar Sales Representative must be knowledgeable about the products and services they are selling and have a thorough understanding of the solar industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate leads through various methods including door-to-door, cold-calling, and networking.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential clients to understand their needs and educate them on solar energy.
- Conduct consultations and site assessments to determine the feasibility of solar installation.
- Create proposals and quotes for customers and follow up on leads to close sales.
- Manage the sales process from initial contact to installation and post-installation follow-up.
- Collaborate with other departments, including engineering and installation teams, to ensure customer satisfaction and timely completion of projects.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and incentives to effectively communicate with customers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven sales experience, preferably in solar or a related industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and effectively communicate them to non-technical customers.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Solar Sales Representatives typically work in a remote/ home office environment but may spend a significant amount of time traveling to customer sites. This position may require working evenings and weekends to accommodate customer schedules. The job may also involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions and physical activity such as climbing ladders or walking on roofs to conduct site assessments.
